Dorsey Dave Fletcher, age 76, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2016 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was born on June 16, 1939 to the late Noah and Effie Reed Fletcher. In addition to his parents, Dorsey was preceded in death by sisters: Marie Cline, Cleona Plummer and Juanita Murry, brothers: Spencer Fletcher and Millard Fletcher and father-in-law, James Absher. Dorsey loved his family very much. He was always putting others before himself and helping those in need in his community. Dorsey loved staying busy and if he wasn’t working you could find him fishing. He was a well-known carpenter and had made many homes in the area. Dorsey was also a proud farmer. He was of the Baptist faith. Dorsey is survived by his wife of 29 years, Donna Fletcher; daughters: Lora Kight and husband Keith, Jennifer Fletcher; sons: Tim Fletcher and wife Michelle, Walter Vines and wife Kimberley; David Fletcher and wife Angie, J.R. Furchess whom Dorsey considered to be his children; sisters: Hazel Crowder, Louise Stansberry and Lorraine Allen; brothers: Dennvis Fletcher and McKinley Fletcher; grandchildren: Ryan Kight and wife Lindsey, Kody Kight, Trevor Fletcher, Sydney Fletcher, Mikayla Fletcher, Cody Vines, Dylan Vines and David Vines; specials friend, Ralph Allen and John Shoun; mother-in-law, Kathleen Absher and sister-in-law, Anne Osborne and husband Jimmy and several nieces, nephews and cousins Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at the Noah Fletcher Family Cemetery, located on Sink Valley Road, Butler, TN. Pallbearers will be Kody Kight, Trevor Fletcher, J.R. Furchess, David Fletcher, Andy Lowe, Cody Vines, Charlie Adams, Herbie Adams, Walter Vines and Tim Fletcher. Honorary pallbearers are Glen Woodard, Dave Stout, Jack Shutt, Randy Mink and all of Dorsey’s friends at Doe Valley Food Mart. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home, 226 Wooden Bridge Lane, Mountain City.
