Louis Ray Manuel Sr.

Louis Ray Manuel Sr., age 81, of Bluff City, Tennessee and formerly of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2016 at the Bristol Regional Medical Center. He was born on July 28, 1934 to the late Ira and Effie Blevins Manuel.  In addition to his parents, Louis was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Johnny Burrow.   Louis was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, archery and gardening. He was a big fan of Atlanta braves and also enjoyed football.   Louis was very proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.   Louis is survived by Dorthy Loggins Manuel; daughter, Katherine Burrow; sons: Louis Ray Manuel Jr. and wife Pam; Timothy Jack Manuel and wife Jacquie; sisters:  Ima Lee Cretsinger and husband Virgil, Veralene Gentry and Lois Fletcher; brothers:  Bill Manuel, Jerry Manuel and wife Judy, Don Manuel and wife Ginny and Dan Manuel; grandchildren:  Katie Burrow Ellison and husband Jeremey, Jonathan Burrow, Aaron Manuel, Micah Manuel and wife Jennifer and Sarah Manuel; great grandchildren:  Hayleigh Ellison, Sawyer Ellison and Tawny Manuel; his four legged friend, Heidi;  several cousins, nieces and nephews and many special friends.   Graveside Service and Interment will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, April 24, 2016 at the Brookshire Cemetery with Rev. Frank Woods and Rev. Dean Smith to officiate. Pallbearers will be Randy Stewart, John Farthing, Jonathan Burrow, Aaron Manuel, Bruce Price, Micah Manuel and Jewel Williams.  Honorary pallbearers are Don Manuel, Bill Manuel, Dan Manuel, Jerry Manuel, Jeremy Ellison, John Davis and Roby Phillippi.   In lieu of flowers, memorials in Louis’ memory may be made to The Gideons International, PO Box 155, Mountain City, TN 37683.   At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of Dorthy Manuel, 904 Sundown Road, Mountain City, TN.   Condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.mountaincityfh.com The family of Louis Ray Manuel Sr. has entrusted his services to Mountain City Funeral Home, 224 S.
