Robert Dean Gentry, age 46, of Shady Valley, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2016. He was born on April 27, 1969 in Abingdon, Virginia to Dean Gentry and Karen Burgess Anderson. He was preceded in death by grandparents: Kathleen Burgess and Clyde and Versie Gentry.   Robert was an avid outdoorsman and especially loved fishing and hunting. One of his favorite outdoor places to go was Backbone Rock, where he and Renee were married. He loved his Tennessee Vols and was also a Miami Dolphins fan. Robert also enjoyed racing, especially NHRA Drag Racing.   Robert took pride in being a great provider for his family. He was a wonderful husband, father, son and paw-paw. He loved his family beyond explanation.   He was employed with Advantage Resourcing, PSM, and Ethos Energy, traveling across the United States working as a turbine mechanic.   He was a member of Sutherland Community Church.   Those left to cherish his memories are his mother, Karen Anderson and husband Terry; father, Dean Gentry and wife Dee; loving wife and best friend of 18 years, Renee Moretz Gentry; his pride and joy, his children: Jada Michelle Gentry, James Robert Gentry and fiancé Marion Craig and William Jeffrey Gentry and wife Tonya; step brothers: Brandon Anderson, Larry Talley, Jeff Chapman and David Chapman; grandchildren: Magnolia Jane Gentry and Robert Lane Gentry; grandfather, Robert Keith Burgess; special nieces: Tru Dunn and Bree Dunn; his special pal and dog, Sammy and his beagles; several aunts, uncles and cousins and many, many special friends.   Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2016 at the Sutherland Community Church with Pastor Dave Allen and Pastor Mack Harr to officiate. Graveside Service and Interment will follow at the Gentry Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bob Mullins, Jeff Blevins, Joseph Sherwood, Brad Dunn, Harold Manuel, Chris Manuel, Jesse Gentry and Larry Gentry. Honorary pallbearers are Coy Bentley, Mike May and all the employees and co-workers of Advantage Resourcing, PSM and Ethos Energy. The family will receive friends from 5-7:00 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a College Fund for his daughter Jada at Elizabethton Federal Savings Bank, 404 South Shady Street, Mountain City, TN 37683.   At other times, the family will receive friends at the home, 1853 Sluder Road, Shady Valley, TN 37688   Condolences may be sent to the family at www.mountaincityfh.com.   The family of Robert Dean Gentry has entrusted his services to Mountain City Funeral Home, 224 S.
