Shannon Greene

John Shannon ‘Phil’ Greene, age 41, of Butler, Tennessee, passed away following a lengthy illness on Monday, May 2, 2016 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was born on March 26, 1975 to Bob Greene and Clarice Bunton. He was preceded in death by his brother, Kevin Greene; grandmothers: Tina Greene and Virginia Bunton; aunt, Ola Mae Greene and uncles: Gary Bunton, Roy Greene and Darrell Greene.   Shannon was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.   He was a member of Sugar Grove Baptist Church and had attended Bakers Gap Baptist Church.   Shannon is survived by his father, Bob Greene and aunt, Teresa Bunton; mother, Clarice Bunton; brother, Shane Greene; uncles and aunts: Ginny Wagner, John David and Betty Lou Greene and Tina Bright; nephew, Hunter Greene, niece, Amber Gilbert Greene; special cousin, Mick Bright special friends: Austin Potter, Joey, Junie, Cheri and Mitchell Bright, Douglas, Bobby, Dawn, Timmy and Tiffany Stanton, Steve Gregg, Joe Miller, Dan and Doug Arney, Isaac, Steven and Hannah Phipps and many more; and several more special aunts, uncles and cousins.   The family will receive friends from 6-7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 5, 2016 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev.
