Michael J. Cooper

  Michael James Cooper, age 57, of Mountain City, TN passed away on Thursday May 12, 2016 in the Mountain City Care Center. He was born on May 26, 1958 to the Millard and June Price Cooper.    Michael was very intelligent and was a dedicated, hard worker. He loved was a good father and loved his family very much.   Michael enjoyed the outdoors and especially loved walking the Appalachian Trail. He also was an author and freelance photographer.   Michael was a member of Walnut Grove Baptist Church.   He is survived by his wife, Colleen Cooper, daughters: Debbie Salmons and husband Bucky and Kristi Forrester; son, Matthew Michael Cooper; sister, Kathy Blevins and husband Glenn; brothers:  Gary Cooper, Ricky Cooper, Terry Cooper & wife Marilyn and Bobby Cooper & wife Beatrice; grandchildren:  Jordan Phillip Salmons, Charlie Anna June Salmons and one grandchild on the way; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and many special friends.   Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 15, 2016 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with Pastors David Bentley and Greg Poe officiating. Graveside Service and Interment will follow at the Price-Cooper Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Jordan Salmons, Bucky Salmons, Howard Cooper, Zack Cooper, Cameron Cooper, Eric Roark, Dallas Arnold and Curtis Blevins.  Honorary pallbearers are Matthew Cooper and Robbie Gilley.  The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral at the funeral home.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family or the funeral home to assist with final expenses.   At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of Michael’s brother, Ricky Cooper, 196 Millard Cooper Lane, Mountain City, TN 37683.   Condolences may be sent to the family at www.mountaincityfh.com.   The family of Michael J.
