Ernest Edward Johnson, age 84, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born on December 6, 1931 to the late Ed and Vada Patrick Johnson. In addition to his parents, Ernest was preceded in death by his wife, Luthenia Church Johnson and brothers: Charles ‘Buss’, Glenn, Ray and Fred.   Like most men of his generation, Ernest was a proud farmer, which he loved to do and took great pride in. He also enjoyed music, especially Bluegrass.   He was an honest, hard-working family man and was well known and well respected by his family and friends.   Those left to cherish Ernest’s memory include his children: Sharon Hughes and husband Ronnie, Rita Walton and husband Roy, Vince Johnson and wife Lisha, Tom Johnson and wife Debbie, Tim Johnson, Sandra Maxy and husband Jerry and Nancy Johnson; sisters: Kate, Betty and Nora Lee; brothers: Chester and Ralph; ; grandchildren: Josh Hughes, Beth Hughes, Amanda Carrier, Christopher McCloud, April Bennett, Kevin McCloud, Matthew McCloud, Danielle Johnson, Daniel Johnson, Brandon Johnson and Nathan Johnson; several more grandchildren; great grandchildren, nieces and nepehws.   Graveside Service and Interment will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2016 at the Johnson Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons.   At other times, the family will receive friends at the home, 382 Johnson Lane, Mountain City, TN.   Condolences may be sent to the family at www.mountaincityfh.com.   The family of Ernest Edward Johnson has entrusted his services to Mountain City Funeral Home, 224 S. Church Street, Mountain City, TN 37683.
