Robert Warren Courtner

Robert Warren Courtner Sr., age 61, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was born on December 1, 1954 to Violet Phillips and the late John Lunsford.   Robert was a United States Marine Corps Veteran.   He was an avid outdoorsman and especially loved to fish and hunt. Robert also enjoyed working on cars.   In addition to his mother, Violet Phillips, Robert is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Anita Courtner; daughter, Julie Laws: sons: Robert Warren Courtner Jr. and Johnny Lee Courtner; sister, Pansy Laws and husband Ronnie; brother: Edward Courtner and wife Lestie, brothers-in-laws; Gary Cordell and Roger Cordell and wife Patty; grandchildren: Amber Laws, Abbie Laws, Savanna Courtner, Emily Courtner, Preston Courtner, Nathaniel Courtner and Jack Able Jr.; several nieces and nephews.   Graveside Service and Interment with military honors conducted by the Johnson County Honor Guard will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, June 6, 2016 at the VA National Cemetery, Mountain Home, Tennessee with Pastor Greg Thompson officiating. Pallbearers will be Johnny Lee and family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be John Grant, Mick Potter, I.G.
