Nancy Carol Brooks

Nancy “Nana” Carol Brooks, age 64 of Johnson City, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, July 3, 2016 at the Johnson City Medical Center following a short battle with cancer. She was loved by so many and shined her light wherever she went. Nancy was born in Delaware on July 23, 1951.  She was the daughter of Wiley Crowder and the late Thelma Crowder of Mountain City, TN. Nancy had several jobs throughout her life, but found her calling in 2004 when she started taking care of children at her daycare, Just Like Home.  For the past 12 years she dedicated her life to caring for these children as if they were her own grandchildren and was affectionately called “Nana”.  “Nana” touched the lives of so many people with her kind heart and selfless attitude. She gave and gave to those whom she loved.  She was always traveling and visiting with friends and family.  She lived and loved with everything she had and had no regrets.  She had countless friends and children in her life that she met along the way and left a mark on their lives forever.  Nancy leaves behind her father, Wiley Crowder; sister, Lisa Osborne (husband Tim); brother –in- law, Elmer Adams; daughter, Erin Church; son, Jeffrey Brooks; two sons-in-law; Mark Griffith and Richard Church; her four precious grandchildren: Carly Griffith, Aynslee Church, Connor Griffith and Alexander Church, as well as her nephews: Jason Adams and Jared Adams (wife Kira) and niece, Sydney Osborne.  She also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, great nephews, great niece and many, many friends that she adored.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Thelma Crowder, her sister Debbie Adams and her daughter, Tara Griffith. Nancy “Nana” will be forever missed.
