Dallas Jerrel ( Jerry ) Porter

  Dallas Jerrel ‘Jerry’ Porter, age 77, of Trade, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, October 1, 2016 at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center. He was born on October 6, 1938 to the late John Alden and Carolee Elizabeth Canter Porter.  In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by sisters:  Helen Shull and Kay Isaacs and brothers:  Alden Porter, Bill Porter and Buddy Porter.   Jerry was a Untied States Army Veteran and was stationed in Korea during his military career.   He was of the Baptist belief.   Those left to cherish Jerry’s memories include his sisters: Nancy Price of Lenoir, NC, Carolyn Harrelson of Woodstock, GA and Phyllis Pennington of Mountain City, TN; brothers:  Rev. Eddie Porter of Shady Valley, TN and Harry Porter of Mexico Beach, FL; several nieces and nephews.   The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at the Mountain City Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Eddie Porter officiating. Graveside Service and Interment with military honors accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard will follow at the Arnold Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Jackson Mast, Scotty Porter, Shane Pennington, Anthony Porter, Doug Price and Keith Price.     Condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.mountaincityfh.com   The family of Dallas Jerrel ‘Jerry’ Porter has entrusted his services to Mountain City Funeral Home, 224 S.
