Michael (Maynard) Ward

Michael (Maynard) Ward     Michael (Maynard) Ward, age 70, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, October 7, 2016. He was born May 17, 1946 in Johnson City, Washington County, TN to the late J.D. (Jim) Ward and Mabel Reynolds Ward.   He was a 1964 graduate of Johnson County High School attended ETSU and was a graduate of NC State University with a BS in Pulp and Paper Technology. Mike was in Xi Sigma Pi Forestry Honor Society, Pulp & Paper Foundation Scholarship, Sigma Alpha Epsilon.   Mike loved his profession as a papermaker. He enjoyed reading spending time outdoors, sitting on the porch and especially enjoyed his 57 Chevy and spending weekends with family & friends on Watauga Lake. He was retired from Metso Corp.     Mike is survived by his sons, Jake Ward and wife Norma and Travis Ward and wife Mandy, grandchildren, Josie Ward and Sadie Ward and former spouse, Annlynn Ward.   Gathering of friends to celebrate Mike’s life will be from 5-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 12 2016 at the Community Church located on ( W.E. Neatherly Rd. Mountain City ).
