Ruby Potter

Ruby Potter, age 81, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2017.  She was born on August 18, 1935 to the late Ray and Ollie Jones Willen.  In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband Gurnie Potter and a brother Wayne Willen. Ruby was a very kind, caring and loving person.  She loved to cook and especially enjoyed cooking meals for her family.  She was an avid reader and was always reading her Bible. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren, whom she loved very much. Those left to cherish her memories include her son and daughter-in-law, Marty and Aprile Potter of Mountain City, TN; sister, Anna Mae Knight and husband Jack; grandchildren:  Mandisa Barrington of Mountain City, TN, Skylar Reece and wife Samantha of Albuquerque, NM, Martin Potter and wife Christie of Mountain City, TN, Tristan Potter, also of Mountain City, TN, Travis Clawson and wife Jamie of Goldsboro, NC; great grandchildren:  Hayden Parker of Mountain City, TN and Aiden Clawson and Alex Clawson of Goldsboro, NC; several nieces and nephews and many special friends. Funeral service for Ruby will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Friday, January 6, 2017 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Homer Vanover officiating.  Graveside service and interment will follow at the Dunn Memorial Park.  Pallbearers will be Martin Potter, Skylar Reece, Travis Clawson, Joseph Dickens and Joe Treadway.  The family will receive friends from 11-12:00 prior to the service on Friday.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dunn Memorial Park, c/o Walter Simcox, 4283 Forge Creek Road, Mountain City, TN 37683.  At other times, the family will receive friends at the home, 4876 Forge Creek Road, Mountain City, TN.  Condolences may be sent to the family at www.mountaincityfh.com.
