Kenneth Ethan Hagler, age 71, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, February 03, 2017 at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was born on October 9, 1945 to the late Weston and Biddie Lee Baker Hagler. In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his sisters, Deloris Hagler and Joann Hagler-Lyons and a brother, Gary Hagler. Kenneth retired from Raytheon following 37 years of service. Kenneth loved his family deeply and was very family oriented. He loved hosting family gatherings where he would always make his famous grilled bar-b-que chicken and sauce. Many people from near and far knew Kenneth for his famous bar-b-que sauce. He enjoyed doing family genealogy and would make family calendars for everyone at Christmas time. He also enjoyed antique cars and going to car shows and had a 1974 Lincoln that he had rebuilt and entered in several shows. He also enjoyed NASCAR. He attended Phillippi Baptist Church of Elizabethton, Tennessee. Kenneth was a member of the United States Army Reserves. Those left to cherish his memories include his wife of 49 years, Evelyn Hagler; daughter and son-in-law, Alicia McCrary and husband Eddie of Elizabethton, TN; son, Jeremy Hagler and fiancé Tracy Beam of Mountain City, TN; brothers: Richard Hagler, Weston Hagler, both of Mountain City, TN and Walter Hagler of California; grandchildren: Kyra and Tre McCrary and Jereah Hagler; several nieces and nephews and many, many special friends and neighbors. Celebration of Life Service for Kenneth will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, February 6, 2017 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Joseph Holifield and Rev. Patricia Stover officiating. The family will receive friends from 12-1:00 p.m. prior to the service. At other times, the family will receive friends at the home, 469 East Main Street, Mountain City, TN.
