Joanne Cox

Joanne Cox, age 82, of Creston, North Carolina, was called home to live with her Savior on Saturday, February 11, 2017.  She was born on July 15, 1934 to the late Robert J. Bonsall Sr. and Grace Violet McClintock Bonsall. In addition to her parents, Joanne was preceded in death by two sisters:  Margaret Bonsall and Kathleen ‘Dollie’ Davis and three brothers:  Edward Bonsall, Richard Bonsall and Raymond Bonsall. Joanne was very outgoing.  She loved cooking, bowling and was always helping other people.  She loved her family very much. Joanne is survived by her husband of 60 years, Leonard S. Cox; one son and daughter-in-law, Gary Bonsall and wife Linda of Creston, NC; brothers:  Robert Bonsall and wife Betty of Longmont,COand James Bonsall and wife Nancy of West Chester, PA; sister, Mildred Spencer and husband Arthur of West Grove, PA; sister-in-law, Suzanne Bonsall of Elkton, MD; two grandsons; one great grandson and one great granddaughter; many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 18, 2017 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Spencer Roark officiating.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. prior to the service. Flowers are appreciated or memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to Caldwell Hospice an Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street NW, Lenoir, NC 28645.
