Mr. Edward Earnest Seatz, age 71, of Zionville, North Carolina, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at his residence. He was born on March 15, 1946 in Watauga County, North Carolina to the late Earnest and Minnie Stevens Seatz. In addition to his parents, Mr. Seatz was preceded in death by a brother, Lewis Seatz, sister-in-law, Pauline Seatz, brother- in- laws: Brantley McQuire, Mike Parsons and W.C. Churchwell, mother and father-in - law, Stella and J.D. Miller. Ed, as known by family and close friends, was a dairy farmer for 45 years. He enjoyed caring for his cattle and land and greeting his friends at the milk parlor. He was a loving husband, dad, and grandpa and loved spending time with his family. Ed was a graduate of Beaver Creek High School. He is survived by his wife of 50 years (married December 21, 1966), Linda Miller Seatz of the home; sons: Junior Seatz and wife Vickie of Zionville, NC and Eugene Seatz of West Jefferson, NC; sisters: Norene McQuire of Wilkesboro, NC, Mary Parsons of Indian Trail, NC and Lola Churchwell of GA; brothers: John Seatz of Zionville, NC, Tommy Seatz and wife Sue of Wisconsin and Bobby Seatz and wife Linda of Todd, NC; grandchildren: Kristy Seatz Treva and husband Ricky, Brittany McGuire and husband Scott, Jacob Seatz, Nathan Seatz and wife Kirsten, Sgt. Dayton Seatz (USMC) and wife Taryne and Hannah Seatz; daughter-in-law, Janet Adams; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends of all ages. The family will receive friends from 5-8:00 p.m. Saturday, May 27, 2017 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with the funeral service following at 8:00 p.m. Pastor Tommy Stevens, Charles Ford M.D., and Dean Gouge officiating. Special music will be provided by Mr. Johnny Jones and Vickie Seatz. Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, May 28, 2017 at the Seatz Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nathan Seatz, Dayton Seatz, Jacob Seatz, Wayne Winebarger, Dale Miller, Keith Wilson, Adam Wilson, Ronnie Roark, Doyle Stephens, Kevin Seatz, Buster Mahala. Honorary pallbearers are Kenny Wilson, Len ‘Bush hog’ Wilson and Jim Miller. The family would like to express their appreciation and gratitude to the Medi Home Hospice for all of their loving care.
