Harry Dixon

Harry Dixon, age 68, of Butler, Tennessee, passed away on May 31, 2017 at his residence.  He was born on November 13, 1948 to the late William Dixon Sr. and Bernice Proudfoot.  In addition to his parents, Harry was preceded in death by a son, Donald Gwinn. Harry was a truck driver for 50 years.  When he wasn’t working he enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing.  Harry also enjoyed working on lawn mowers. Those left to cherish his memories include his wife of 44 years, Carolyn Dixon; daughter, Loretta Edwards of Butler, TN; sons:  Harry Dixon Jr. of New Jersey and David Gwinn and fiancé Wendy of Neva, TN; sisters:  Gail Dixon, Jane Hall, Angie Dixon and Lisa Dixon; brothers:  William Dixon Jr. and Tom Dixon; 11 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; special friend, Earl Able and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 3-5:00 p.m. Sunday, June 4, 2017 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with the funeral service to follow at 5:00 p.m. with Pastor Daniel Jones officiating.
