Christopher ‘Chris’ Hogan Brown, age 30, of Mountain City, Tennessee passed away on Saturday, August 26, 2017 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.  He was born in Boone, North Carolina on March 19, 1987 to GeLinda Kay Brown and the late Tony Brown. In addition to his father, Chris was preceded in death by grandparents:  James Murphy Hicks and Mary Ruth Hicks; aunt, Belinda Jones and uncle, James Robert Hicks. Chris was a gifted carpenter and was always working on various building projects.  He enjoyed being outdoors and especially liked to fish.  He also enjoyed working on car radios and stereos.  Chris was a collector of many things.    Chris’ pride and joy was his son, CJ.    Those left to cherish his memories include his mother and step father, Gelinda Kay Brown and Thearon ‘Bud’ Hearne; son, CJ Brown and his mother, Julie Carpenter; sister, Tracey and Jeremy Hagler; his twin brother, Tony Lee Brown; grandparents:  Harvey and Lucille Brown; step grandma, Wanda Mahala Buonamici; aunts and uncles:  Kenneth Hicks, Susanne Swinnie, Lisa Warlick and Jeffery Brown; nieces and nephews:  Blake Beam, Ashlynn Beam and their father Johnathan Beam, Anthony Brown and Dani Brown; cousins:  Ashley Burkett, Jesse Packer, Stephanie Wilson, Rachel Allore, James ‘Bubba’ Jones, Sheena Hicks, Steven Jones, Mary Ann McRock, Crystal Jones, Josh Hicks, Kenny Hicks, Kristen Hicks, Jennifer Hicks, Beau Hicks, Johnny Ollis and Candice Roberts; special family, his aunt, Lucille Woods; Janice Woods, Joannie Woods and ‘Scooter the dawg’; special friend, Heather Burchett and many, many more special family and friends. The family will receive friends from 2-3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 at the Mountain City Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 3:00 p.m.  Graveside service and interment will follow at the Sunset Memorial Park.  Pallbearers will be Blake Beam, Jeremy Hagler, Steve Owens, James Jones, Dalton McKinney and Dillon Arnett.  Honorary pallbearer is Tracey Ward. At other times the family will receive friends at the home of his grandparents, Harvey and Lucille Brown, 1260 Crackers Neck Road, Mountain City, TN 37683. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for Chris’ son CJ. Condolences may be sent to the family through our website at www.mountaincityfh.com.
