Inez Arlene Farrow, age 85, of Mountain City, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 30, 2017 at the NHC Healthcare Center of Bristol, Virginia. She was born in Farmers, Kentucky on November 2, 1931 to the late Willie Alvin Grayson and Nannie Lou Emma Hurley Grayson. Arlene was preceded in death by her loving husband Roy Thomas Farrow in June of 2010; her son, Dale Farrow; son-in-law, Tommy Smythe, seven sisters, and three brothers. Arlene was a kind and caring woman who was always doing for others. She loved to bake and cook and especially enjoyed cooking for others. She had several hobbies but really enjoyed working on crafts and word seek puzzles. Arlene was a lifelong member of the Christian Church. Those left to cherish her memories include her children: Carolyn Whipple and husband David, Witcha Falls, TX and Wanda Smythe of Bristol, TN, David Farrow and wife Debbie of Garland, TX, Danny Farrow and wife Tammy of Mountain City, TN and Darrel Farrow and wife Lynn of Deep Gap, NC; daughter-in-law, Jill Farrow; sister, Florida Pyle of IN; fourteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at the Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 2, 2017 at the Mountain City Funeral Home with Minister Lawrence Harris officiating. Graveside service and interment will follow at the Phillippi Cemetery with Minister Maurice Widener officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons and Calvin Williams. Honorary pallbearers are grandsons, David Whipple, Mark Whipple, David ‘LD’ Farrow and Brett Farrow. At other times the family will receive friends at the home of her son Danny Farrow, 141 Swift Hollow Road, Mountain City, TN.
