Mary Williams Childers

  Mary Williams Childers   Mary Williams Childers, age 81, of Jefferson, NC and formerly of Eden, NC, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017 in the Margate Health Center in Jefferson, NC. She was born on June 1, 1936 in Ashe County, NC to the late Quincy Williams and Rosa Pennington Williams. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Albert Childers; two sisters Gladys Blevins and Blanch Woods; five brothers, infant Herbert Williams, Glen (Roby) Williams, Bart Williams, Albert Williams, and Earl Williams.   Mary loved life, children, and her family. She was a homemaker, enjoyed playing bingo and was President of Resident Council and charter member and president of the Red Hat Society at Margate Health and Rehab.She was a member of Aiken Road Baptist Church, Eden, NC.   She is survived by two sisters, Marie Osborne of Mountain City, and Ettie Jane Reece and husband Ronda of Mountain City; one brother Carl Williams and wife Dorothy of Mountain City; very special niece( who was like a Daughter ) Judy Griffin, and several nieces and nephews also survive.   Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday December 4, 2017 at Mountain City Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Darrell Graybeal to officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Graveside service and burial will follow from Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Allen Woods, Jacob Woods, Ethan McCoy, Joe Paisley, Charles Osborne, and Brett Reece.
