Pansy Parlee Courtner, age 90, of Mountain City, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, January 06, 2018 at the Watauga Medical Center. She was born on June 6, 1927 to the late Clyde and Susie Fritts Courtner. In addition to her parents, Pansy was preceded in death by daughter, Edith Poore; sister, Kate Courtner; brothers: Walt Courtner, Lloyd Courtner and Howard Courtner and great grandchild, Ronnie Clayton Mc-Call. Prior to her declining health, Pansy enjoyed working in her garden and flower beds. She always loved to sit on her porch and enjoy the outdoors and visit with family and friends. She was a member of Dewey Christian Church. Those left to cherish her memories include her children: Barbara Gentry and special friend, Gerald, Jean Oliver, Rosa Gentry and husband Frankie, Kathy Courtner and Sanford Courtner; sister, Violet Phillips; brother, Clarence Courtner; 13 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at the Rock Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with grandson, Pastor Shannon Courtner officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons-in-law.
