Mr. Francis Fred Eldreth

 Mr. Francis Fred Eldreth, better known as "Fred" age 81, of Creston passed away Friday morning, February 16, 2018 at Margate Health & Rehab Center. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 19, 2018 at 2:00pm at Boone Family Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lee Wilder and Rev. Jason Cornett officiating. Burial will follow in the Howell Cemetery in Todd. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 19, 2018 from 12:00-2:00pm; two hours prior to the funeral service. The family also will receive friends on Sunday, February 18, 2018 from 4:00-8:00pm at the home place at 367 Eller Road in Creston. Mr. Eldreth was born in Ashe County on July 9, 1936 to the late James Edward and Bessie Mae Killen Eldreth. He retired from Thomasville Furniture Company. He enjoyed coon hunting, gardening and raising tobacco. Fred was a member of Three Forks Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father and brother; he will be missed by all. Mr. Eldreth is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Farmer Eldreth; two sons, Larry Eldreth, of Creston and Kenny Eldreth, of West Jefferson; a daughter, Brenda Eldreth, of Mountain City, TN; two step daughters, Diane Cornett and husband, David, of Creston and Becky Faircloth, of Creston; three brothers, Carl Eldreth, of Boone, Bobby Eldreth, of Boone and Denver Eldreth, of Sugar Grove; four sisters, Grace Holman, of Todd, Virginia Baugess, of Trap Hill, Betty Cable, of Boone and Patsy Reese, of Vilas; eleven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
