Dennis Murphy

Dennis Wayne Murphy, age 59, of Elizabethton, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2018 in Nashville, TN.  He was born on May 1, 1958 in Carter, County, TN to the late Earl Jr. and Goldie Murphy.  In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Nova Lynn Hill; three brothers:  Gary Murphy, Eddie Murphy and Rex Murphy; grandparents:  Earl Sr. and Jenny Murphy and Harrison and Naomi Arnett and one nephew, Clark Murphy.  Those left to cherish his memories include his daughters:  Candy Murphy, Kelly Murphy and Cristy Stout; grandchildren:  Joshua Fulton, Waylon Tolley, Rex Tolley, Natalie Simerly, Gracie Little and Connor Stout; sister, Jennie Murphy Birchfield; brothers:  Jackie Murphy, Kenneth Murphy and Tony Murphy; several cousins, nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 22, 2018 at the Mountain City Funeral Home.  Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor John Perkins officiating.  Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 4:00 p.m on Thursday at the Arnett-Murphy Cemetery (716 Sugar Hollow Road, Elizabethton, TN).  Pallbearers will be Ken Murphy, Joshua Birchfield, Adam Birchfield, Samuel Murphy, Bo Deloach and Roy Hill.  Honorary pallbearers are Glenn Hayes, Lonnie Turner, Jackie Murphy, Kenneth Murphy and Tony Murphy.
