Bill Manuel

Gilbert William ‘Bill’ Manuel, age 84, of Shady Valley, Tennessee, passed away on Monday morning, March 19, 2018 at the Mountain City Care Center.  He was born on May 16, 1933 to the late Ira and Effie Blevins Manuel.  In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Ann Pruitt Manuel; sister, Ima Lee Cretsinger and brother, Louis Ray Manuel. Bill was a proud farmer and took great pride in his work.  He loved being outdoors and especially enjoyed fishing, hunting and yard selling.  He loved going to church at Shady Valley Church of Christ, where he was also a member.  Bill loved his family, especially his grandchildren who he loved to spoil. Those left to cherish his memories include his daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Tony Snyder; sisters:  Veralene Gentry and Lois Fletcher; brothers:  Don Manuel and wife Virginia, Dan Manuel and Jerry Manuel and wife Judy; grandchildren:  Jerome Snyder and Jason Snyder; great grandchildren:  Josh, Ethan, Kaylee, London Snyder, Sydney Snyder, Havyn      , Bella Macey and Trace Thompson; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at the Shady Valley Church of Christ.  Funeral service will follow at 12:00 with Pastor Daniel Koen and Wesley Simon officiating.  Special music will be provided by Ethan Tate, Kevin Cretsinger and Elwood Cretsinger.  Honorary pallbearers are Jason Snyder, Josh Snyder, Ethan Snyder, Nick Fletcher, Dennis Honaker, Jim Sherman and the Men of the Shady Valley Church of Christ.
