Mattie Cross

  Mattie Elizabeth Cross   Mattie Elizabeth Cross, age 70, of Mountain City, TN, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at her home. She was born January 24, 1948 to the late James R. Lewis and Pearl Welch Lewis. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Richard Lewis.   Mattie was a member of Heavenly Light Baptist Church. She loved working in flowers and gardening. Mattie was a caregiver most of her life and will be truly missed by all who knew her.   Those left to cherish her memories include her husband of 53 years Eddie Cross; daughter, Dee Dee Burnette and husband David; son, Stephen Cross; brothers, Dennis Lewis and wife Hazel, and Willard Lewis and wife Carol of PA; sister-in-law, Rosie Lewis; grandchildren, Todd Cross, Jesse Cross, Stephen King, Paige Porter and Henry Cross; great grandchildren, Daxton Reece, Addie King, and Karissa King; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.   Graveside service will be held on Monday, March 26, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. at Calhoun Cemetery ( Big Springs) with Pastor Terry Steele officiating. Music will be under the direction of Josh Jones family. For those who would like, meet at the funeral home by 3:00 p.m. on Monday to go in procession. Pallbearers will be family and friends.   The family would like to say a special Thanks to the staff of Seby B.
